Nissan Motor India spoke about a new small car launch on the sidelines of the Nissan Sunny midsize sedan unveiling at Mumbai yesterday. This Nisan small car would be in the Rs. 2-4 lakh price range and will be positioned below the existing Nissan Micra hatchback. Japanese car manufacturer, Nissan Motors manufactured their 100,000th Micra hatchback earlier this week at their unit in Chennai, India. It has been just over a year since the first Micra was manufactured at the same unit. Mr Gilles Normand, VP, Nissan India, said, "I would like to congratulate everyone associated with the Chennai plant on reaching what will be the first of many production milestones.... 

Japanese auto manufacturer, Nissan Motors has announced that their hatchback Micra will be dearer by a minimum of 0.5% to 2% in the Indian auto industry from today. When we calculate the price hike in Rupees, Micra price will be increased by a minimum by Rs 2,500 to a maximum Rs 11,170 depending on the variant you buy. Surprisingly, the latest price hike by Nissan Motors has not affected their CBU... 

Japanese car maker, Nissan Motors were virtually out of business in India before Micra was launched. Nissan India launched Micra in July 2010 and since then they have managed to sell over 6000 units of Micra in the country. In December 2010 alone, Nissan India managed to sell 1057 units of Micra. And now with Micra diesel available in India, things can only get better for the Japanese manufacturer....

Nissan Motors announced their third largest recall ever, over a faulty ignition relay in many of their models including Micra/March, Note, Infiniti QX56, Titan pickup and Cube. This recall will see a total of 2.14 Nissan cars which were manufactured during August 2003 and July 2006 in countries like US, UK, China, Taiwan and Spain. None of the Micra/March hatchback manufactured in India were affected... 

Nissan India will start exporting their latest small car, Micra in international markets by the end of this month.
