Adding to the numerous recall programmes in India in the last few months, Toyota Corolla Altis sedan is now summoned back for fixing an issue pertaining to its powertrain.
Toyota and Ford, both contend that they have got the world’s most popular car. The competition escalates with Ford revealing that they moved 1,097,618 units of Focus in 2013 while Toyota claims that 1,098,524 units of their Corolla were sold thus putting them in the lead by 906 units.

Green Car Journal has announced 5 finalists for 2014 Green Car of the Year(R) program. they are Audi A6 TDI, BMW 328d, Honda Accord, Mazda3, and Toyota Corolla. All 5 finalists will be honoured as Green Car Journal’s “Top 5 Green Cars for 2014″ and earn the magazine’s “Green Car Product of Excellence” honors.

Five finalists of the 2014 Green Car of the Year have been announced. These include two diesel models, two petrol and 1 hybrid. Surprisingly, none of the finalists include the likes of Tesla Model S or BMW i3, but it is filled by everyday cars, such as the BMW 3 Series, Audi A6, Mazda3 (the only compact car in the list), Honda Accord, and Toyota Corolla.
Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the Indian subsidiary of the world’s largest car maker, Japan’s Toyota Motors is testing their latest generation of Corolla sedan in the country. Expected to be launched in India by early 2014, the new Corolla caught on test in India, could be seen with same specs as that which was unveiled in Europe in June earlier this year.
Exceeding a 40 million mark in global sales is no small accomplishment for any carmaker, especially in the current economic scenario prevailing across the globe. However, this is exactly what has been achieved by Toyota where its Corolla sales are concerned.
