Volvo V40 hatchback bears strong similarities to Volvo Cross Country crossover, which is already on sale in India since 2013.
Swedish car manufacturer, Volvo plans on launching an affordable hatchback version of the Volvo V40 Cross Country in India in April 2015.
Automakers such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, and Volvo are all showing interest in the compact car segment when it comes to new launches in the Indian luxury auto market. Deamnd could be seen as a key factor in this segment and automakers are slowly and steadily considering it.
Volvo V40 for the 2014 model year will see an updated engine line up in the European markets. Besides this the company is also adding another AWD version in Cross Country range and all new engine options have reduced CO2 emissions.
Volvo is planning to set up a new local assembly unit in India. This comes following their decision to increase their focus on the Indian luxury car market, which is expected to grow many folds in the next few years.
