Tata Bolt and Zest launch in August 2014 with AMT option
India’s leading automakers, Tata Motors are set to launch the new Zest sub compact sedan and Bolt hatchback in August 2014. Showcased at Auto Expo 2014, the two upcoming models have since been spotted on test and gear up for launch in India in August and to be followed by launch in Nepal in September.
Tata Bolt and Zest will receive engine options in the form of 1.2l Revotron series petrol engine and Fiat sourced 1.3 litre multijet diesel engine. It has also been revealedÂ that both Bolt and Zest will be offered with Automated Manual Transmission options. These 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engines will be capable of producing 85 PS at 5,000 rpm and 140 Nm torque at between 1,750-3,000 rpm. 1.3 litre diesel engine will be mated to a five speed manual gearbox.
Though no pricing of Tata Bolt and Zest have been confirmed, estimates put pricing of Tata Bolt at between INR 4Â to 6.50 lakhs while Tata Zest could be priced at around INR 5-7.50Â lakhs. Gearing up for these two major launches, Tata Motors is in the process of hiring additional sales staff across its 200 dealerships in the country. A total of 3,000 additional sales staff will be recruited while the company also plans on enhancing dealerships and customizing them according to customerâ€™s preferences.
