Tata Bolt spied with camouflage, launch by Diwali – 2014 end
Tata Bolt hatchback is spotted testing in Rajasthan where high ambient temperatures are recorded (around 50 degree Celsius). The upcoming B segment hatchback, which the Indian car manufacturer is betting high on, is expected to elevate Tata’s brand image in the market. It was unveiled at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo along with its compact sedan brother Zest, earlier this year.
Spy shots of undisguised Bolt hatchback testing in Pune was seen earlier, and one with different cloak was caught on the streets of Chennai. The Tata Vista replacement is expected to show substantial improvement in all aspects like build quality, functionality and safety features.
Hiding under the bonnet will be the new 1.2 litre four cylinder Revotron petrol engine with turbocharger. It produces 85 PS of max. power and 140 Nm of peak torque. While the diesel version will host the well known 1.3 litre Quadrajet from Fiat’s shelf, that generates 75 PS max. power and 190 Nm peak torque. Both variants will feature 5 speed manual transmission.
Word about Automated Manual Transmission in Bolt remains speculative, but not improbable. While Manza successor Tata Zest is set to feature AMT in diesel variant, and will be known as the first diesel compact sedan to be sold with AMT.
Tata Zest would be launched in July 2014, while Bolt is expected to be launched during Diwali festive season, in later part of 2014. Maruti Swift and Hyundai i20, watch out!
