Tata Falcon 4 hatchback to be called Bolt

Tata Falcon hatchback, set to go on display at 2014 Auto Expo has got a new name. Christened ‘Bolt’, the upcoming hatchback will share parts and platform with Vista while it goes up against the likes of Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10.

The new Tata Bolt will be formally unveiled in New Delhi on February 3, 2014, while it will also be displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo. Alongside the Bolt, there will be another new car, a sub-four meter sedan, currently called Falcon 5.

Tata Falcon 4 hatchback to be called BoltBoth these cars will come in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options. Petrol engine will be in the form of Tata’s new 1.2 liter Revotron fuel injected engine, offering peak power of 84 bhp and peak torque of 140 Nm. Diesel engine will be in the form of Fiat sourced MultiJet 1.3l delivering

Tata Motors’ Bolt receives distinctive styling from Vista with new grille, headlamp and fog lamp designs. Body panels and other car mechanics also vary from the Vista with new suspension design to augment both ride and handling while Electric Power Steering is also added and provided by German parts majors ZF.

Tata Motors has not made any announcements where prices of both Bolt and Falcon 5 are concerned which should be revealed when the two models go on sale sometime this year. (source)
