Tata Motors now has luxury plans for India. The plan seems rather simple. Tata Motors wishes to introduce new models under Jaguar and Land Rover channels and alongside, they plan to develop variants of these models so they can cater to the market abroad.
As can be deduced, this is most certainly the company's 1st real move in regards to bettering their position in the Indian auto market. The announcement points towards a station wagon, an entry-level vehicle, and a new roadster from the Jaguar stable to start with.
The company has only recently pulled out of its loss making phase, and there's serious plans of targeting emerging markets including the Middle East, and China in order to maintain positive buoyancy.
Tata Motors aims at revamping the land Rover portfolio. This would see the emergence of the Evoque, a Range Rover SUV model. Other plans revolve around hybrid, and fuel efficient cars from Land Rover. Development plans also include starting an assembly plant in South Africa to cater to commercial vehicles.
