Tata Motors sales lacked luster as they stood at 61,998 units for February 2013. In comparison, February sales for passenger and commercial vehicles in 2012 were reported at 92,119 vehicles, exports included, and in February 2011, sales were recorded for 86, 704 vehicles.

Domestic sales where both commercial and passenger vehicles were accounted for stood at 58,002 units while taking only commercial vehicles into account the company sold 47,389 units in February 2013. Sales for the fiscal in this category stood at 480,330 units with LCV sales touching 351,801 units and M&HCV sales reaching 128,529 units. Passenger vehicle sales during February stood at 10,613 units. Out of this sales of Nano, Indica and Indigo reached 7,769 units while that of Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture touched 2,844 units. Exports during February 2013 reached the 3,996 mark while cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal stood at 47,279 units.

Noteworthy facts were that the company’s Jamshedpur plant rolled out its 2 millionth truck and the company also picked up an order for Tata 6×6 multi axle high mobility platform from Bharat Electronics Limited. Two new exciting launched where intercity transport and staff transport is concerned is in the offing. These include a Front Engine Luxury AC Intercity Coach- 45-Seater and Luxury Staff Bus.
