Tata Motors sub 1 lakh global passenger car sales this fiscal thus far

Tata Motors Limited, leading automakers of both passenger and commercial vehicles have not been seen very strong sales in recent times. Announcing global sales results for the month of November, the company has reported a 19.91% drop in global sales.

Tata Motors global sales stood at 81,957 units in the month of November as compared to 1,02,337 units sold in the corresponding period of 2012.


Total global sales of passenger vehicles during the month of November stood at 50,703 units, down 4.49 % as compared to 53,089 units sold in November 2012. The performance of the company was further impacted due to continued weakness in domestic markets, both where passenger and commercial vehicles were concerned.

Luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover on the other hand, saw more positive results in November 2013, during which period sales increased 15.31% to 39,956 units, as compared to 34,649 in the same month last year. The brand is expected to continue with this strong performance due to success of recently launched models and an impending strong product launch.

Cumulative wholesales for the fiscal thus far are 674,729 units. Daewoo range sales were 31,254 nos, while cumulative commercial vehicles wholesales for the fiscal are 306,532 nos.

Global wholesales of Tata Motors’ passenger vehicles in November 2013 were 10,747 nos, and for the fiscal are 99,533 nos.
