Tata Motors Safari Storme SUV launch on 17th October 2012

Tata Safari Storme is all set to enter Indian markets on October 17th 2012. The vehicle will be added to the long list of SUVs making their way into Indian markets and needless to say that competition is rife within its segment. The Safari Storme was earlier seen at the 2012 Delhi Auto Show and launch timing is well planned just ahead of the festive season in India.

A look at the Safari Storme and one is quickly reminded of the Aria with which it shares a number of features including chassis, suspension while even its engine is the same at that seen in Aria and will include a 2.2 liter DiCOR engine offering 142PS power and 320 Nm torque mated to a five speed manual gearbox and will come with a 2WD and 4WD options. Interiors are exclusively done up in leather and wood while a new honeycomb grill, projector headlights, new chrome tipped twin exhausts and new tailgate have been added.

Pricing should be well within the pricing at which the current Safari sells at which is Rs.8.28 lakhs to Rs.13.26 lakhs. Competition is expected from the Mahindra Scorpio, Renault Duster and Chevrolet Tavera.
