Tata Motors Xenon XT enters South Africa
Ideally suited for farming, mining, and construction activities and for use in small business, the Tata Motors Xenon XT in four variants has been launched in South Africa. With this launch, the company hopes to expand their presence in the country and develop even more vehicles for the South African markets.
Comfortably seating upto 5 persons, the Xenon XT pick up comes with finer touches and comforts which include electrically adjustable side view mirrors, one touch power windows and a host of safety features. The Xenon XT adds to the company portfolio which includes Super Ace, 207 DI turbo and the current Xenon range being presented in South Africa which consists of 11 variants. Tata Motors launches the all new Tata XENON XT in South Africa
Tata Motors today launched its new generation bakkie range – Tata Xenon XT in South Africa. The Tata Xenon XT is packed with eXTra features in all aspects – performance, safety, comfort, style and functionality – it is truly built to TAKE IT TO THE XTREME.
The Tata Xenon XT comes with impressive features that give it a competitive edge amongst other lifestyle bakkie options in the South African market. The Tata Xenon XT range comes in 4 variants – Single Cab (4X4), Single Cab (4X2), Double Cab (4X2) and Double Cab (4X4). The range has a perfect blend of looks, safety, comfort, convenience and performance thanks to its state-of-the-art European styling; features like navigation, Bluetooth, dual airbags, ABS, differential lock (double cabs), and limited slip differential (single cabs). The Tata Xenon XT’s common rail diesel engine deliver high power and torque providing overall performance of an efficient work-horse.

The Tata Xenon XT is packed with XTreme Technology. It is powered by a new generation 2.2L VTT DiCOR (Variable Turbine Technology, Direct Injection Common Rail) engine that is controlled by a 32-bit electronic control unit and incorporates state-of-the-art technology. This is the same Euro V engine that powers the Xenon range across the world. This engine has been fine-tuned to meet domestic Euro II requirements. The new engine delivers an incredible peak power of 110 kW @ 4000 rpm and peak torque of 320 Nm over a wide rpm range of 1500 – 3000. The vertical centralised injector and the variable swirl system together provide good air and fuel mixing that result in complete combustion and outstanding fuel efficiency and therefore, low emissions. This innovative engine technology not only provides the best-in-class performance but is also environment-friendly.
With the Tata Xenon XT, one can experience the wild outdoors in the cushioned comfort and safety of it’s indoors. Extra care has been taken to ensure driver and passenger safety with advanced features for both active and passive safety. Tata Motors started exporting commercial vehicles to South Africa in 1998 (after the country became a democracy) with a full-fledged operation starting from 2004; (including the beginning of passenger car exports).
