Tata Motors’ Zest launch price Rs 4.64 and 5.64 lakhs

Tata Zest compact sedan launching in India today will see competition from various quarters which includes the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. With a motive to set the company car business back on track, the new Zest is being offered with an innovative new design with a host of buyer attractions to include increased cabin space, comfortable ride positions and better handling in adverse road conditions. Tata Zest launch price is as follows (Diesel): XE Rs 5.64 lakhs (74bhp), XM Rs 6.27 lakhs, XMS Rs 6.45 lakhs, XMA (AMT) Rs 6.99 lakhs, XT Rs 6.99 lakhs (89bhp). Petrol prices are as follows: XE Rs 4.64 lakhs, XM Rs 5.25 lakhs, XMS Rs 5.43 lakhs, and XT Rs 5.99 lakhs.

At the launch today, Minari Shah – Head,Corporate Communications Tata Motors addressed attendees before Dr. Tim Leverton – Head, Engineering Research Centre Tata Motors discussed Global R&D strengths of the Tata group.

Over 3,00,000 hours of research and testing have resulted in Revotron 1.2T powering new Zest from Tata Motors.  More than 6,000 engineers and technicians at 11 centres in 5 countries worked on Zest, which is available in 9 variants, 4 petrol and 5 diesel. Variants available are as follows XE, XM, XMA, XMS and top-end XT.AMT will be offered on the top-spec diesel variant. Zest colour choices include pristine white, platinum silver, sky grey,  buzz blue, dune beige and venetian red. Zest’s new design philosophy incorporates elements like the Humanity Line. Wouldn’t be wrong to say Tata Zest XMS is the most affordable in its segment to offer ABS and airbags.

Boosting design is a modern exterior with DRLs, projector headlamps, and LED tail lights. Pratap Bose, Head of Design at Tata Motors discussed confident dynamism and Tata’s new design philosophy, which is easy to see in the Zest. On teh inside, Tata Motors says Zest has best in class rear seat space ans class AC performance.

In his support, Narain Karthikeyan’s tweet this morning read as follows, ‘Immensely proud to see the new Tata Zest being launched. Lots of effort from everyone’. In keeping with Tata Motors focus on HorizoNext pillars, Mr. Girish Wagh, Senior Vice President, discussed DriveNext and ConnectNext. He also stressed on 29 new class leading features.

Taking a cue for the success of Maruti Suzuki Celerio where automated manual transmission is concerned, the company will also be offering the Zest with AMT offering users with easy drive facilities minus constant shifting of gears while also promising higher fuel efficiency. Tata Motors is depending much on the success of the Tata Zest sedan while also sprucing up dealerships and training personnel and equipping them with tablets loaded with Zest features and functions so as to woo customers.

To take their focus beyond India, Tata Motors will also pay attention to regions to include South Africa, Brazil and ASEAN countries where Indonesian market will be a major target. There’s a new 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine and 1.3 liter MultiJet engine while AMT five speed transmission will be offered on the diesel engine Zest. Base diesel returns 74hp and top end 89hp. Exteriors will boast of projector headlamps, daytime running LED lights and multi mode engine drive while interiors will sport a 5″ touch screen Harman infotainment system. All Tata Zest variants get 15-inch alloy wheels with a varying wheel-design for petrol and diesel models. Zest is being made available with 3 year/1,00,000km Warranty, free 3 year 24×7 roadside assistance, and 3 year/45,000 km maintenance package.
