Tata Motors has showcased the new Nano powered by CNG at the Delhi Auto Show 2012. Running on CNG is what will make this cheapest car in the country environment friendly though exact date of launch has not been revealed. Speaking at the unveiling, Mr. Ravi Kant, Vice Chairman of Tata Motors said that though the CNG variant was being showcased, customers are in for some bad news as diesel variant of Nano will take some more time.
Certain problems such as fire hazards and replacement of starter motors plaguing Tata Nano was taking time but Mr. Ratan Tata, Group Chief of Tata Motors has assured customers that all possible efforts were being put in to ensure that the car was safe, stable and highly efficient. Tata also confirmed that the company was not competing of price with other small cheap cars in the market.
Nano CNG once launched will offer customers a more economical and fuel efficient car which should appeal to a large audience specially considering fuel prices in the country. Apart from CNG variant, a new concept Nano with front disc brakes was also on display at the Delhi Auto Expo.
