With Maruti's recent announcement that they plan to launch 5 CNG vehicles in a single day this month, it certainly does seem the mean business, and this time they're upping the ante. We may not yet know how other auto giants plan to meet the challenge, but reports suggest that Tata has been testing a CNG Nano around Pune.
The vehicle spotted had a CNG sticker, and from the looks of it, this grey wonder was in the latter stages of development. Other reports seem to suggest that Tata Motors busy with the development of a diesel engine for the Nano. Specs could be a sub 800cc engine with CRDI technology from Bosch.
Nano, really does seem to be doing wonders for Tata Motors, and the company is likely to ready an electrical version for the Geneva Motor Show in March, 2011. Considering that the demand for CNG is rising in India, it sure seems that Tata Motors, and Maruti or all set to market a cash cow.
