Original Story: Tata Motors has started generating buzz about the forthcoming Tata Nano GenX. All the setbacks and expectations anybody had on the current Nano, are expected to be satisfied by the next generation model.

Tata Nano GenX will be the most affordable automatic car in India.

New-gen Nano has undergone comprehensive cosmetic upgrade, which has given the little car ear-to-ear grinning bumpers and scintillating new Sangria Red body colour, among others. Referring to the new smiley bumpers, Tata Motors says, “The next generation is ready to welcome you with a smile”.

That’s not all. Taking the Nano brand to a whole new level, Tata Motors has added two most important and highly anticipated features to the most affordable car in the country, a functional tail gate and Automated Manual Transmission.

There is no increase in boot space compared to current generation Nano, but you won’t have to go through the indignity of asking the back seat occupants to get out of the car, to fold the backrest and shove / remove your luggage. Tata Nano will no longer be a looked at like it’s a ‘special’ car, it will be reckoned a regular hatchback, a chic looking one at that.

There will probably be five Tata Nano GenX variants, of which three – XE, XM and XT will have 4-speed manual transmission, and remaining, likely XM and XT, will equip AMT labelled Easy Shift. Latter variants are touted to deliver 21.9 kmpl mileage (as per ARAI standard tests).

Further, Tata Nano GenX will have larger 24 litre fuel tank capacity, instead of 15 litres in current generation.
