Tata Motors have scheduled launch of their new SUV Storme well in time for the upcoming festive season in India. The Tata SUV was spotted on test in various locations across the country recently and was also spotted at a dealer showroom in India which is what has prompted speculation that the vehicle is close to launch.

Being an updated version of Tata Safari, Storme is given a boxier façade with a rectangular shape that has been inspired by the Range Rover. Headlights are also in a rectangular shape and are connected to a chrome strip which bears the name “Storme”. Various other rectangular elements are seen along with a grille and air vent giving the car a stylish new exterior.

At the rear, the SUV is seen minus the spare wheel but tail lamps are larger and more prominent as are the rear bumpers. Interiors have been given a makeover in beige with wooden finish to match its leather lined steering wheel while wood accents are seen on dashboard and door trims.

Various accents are also seen on the Safari Storme which also features on the Tata Aria. Engine is similar to that of the Aria which is a 2.2 liter DiCOR engine offering 142 ps power and 320 Nm torque mated to a five speed manual gearbox. Other features include ABS, disc brakes and shorter turning radius. The current Tata Safari sells for Rs.8.28 lakhs to Rs.13.26 lakhs while prices of the Safari Storme are yet to be announced.
