Tata Ultra school buses get Skoolman Telematics for real time tracking

Catering to increased concerns of student safety during school bus travel, Tata Motors, leading automakers in India have launched Tata SKOOLMAN’ Telematics service besides the new Tata Ultranew Ultra BS3 Safe School Bus at 2015 SIAM Bus and Special Vehicle Show being held at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.

These tracking solutions which are directed for enhanced student safety will come as a standard fitment on Ultra range of school buses and Tata SKOOLMAN also allows parents to track the departure and arrival of school buses in real time via SMS alerts, live tracking or on a map or through mobile phone applications. Tata SKOOLMAN also enables operators to plan bus routes and management of the fleet in a better and more efficient manner.

Tata SKOOLMAN works to the advantage of parents and schools while ensuring on board safety for school children. It sets of automatic SMS to parents at the time of pick up and drop allowing parents to follow the bus movements through a map on real time basis. Schools can track the buses with updates every 10 seconds, while schools receive SMS or email alerts in case of unsafe driving. Fleet owners can manage routes more efficiently thereby reducing fuel consumption and carbon footprint by engine idling monitoring.

Tata Motors has taken various other initiatives to ensure safety in school buses. The company conducted an essay competition titled, “Dream it to win it” and a campaign called “Hamara Bus Ki Baat Hai” in various schools across India. The company has undertaken training of 15000 bus staff in 41 cities and in 295 schools in India.
