Tata Zest spied with Zest stickers as camouflage: Full marks to marketing team

Tata Motors, new Bolt hatchback and Zest sub 4 meter sedan, were unveiled at 2014 Auto Expo in February this year. Both these cars are expected to be launched in the coming months, first Zest and then Bolt.

Currently, both Zest and Bolt are in the final phase of testing before production begins at full steam. Apart from testing these cars, Tata Motors is also working on improving their dealer network, hiring 3,000+ staff for the posts of Customer Advisors, Team Leaders and Sales Managers across their dealerships.

At the same time their marketing team is also working round the clock. For eg, Tata Motors is the official Car Partner for this season’s Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL team. They had also associated with IIFA – International Indian Film Academy where a special contest was announced – Zest for Stardom winners.

In the latest development as far as marketing Tata Zest is concerned, the team has come up with a novel idea. On the test cars itself, they have stuck stickers which clearly reveal that it is Tata Zest. One such test car was recently spotted by Autocar India reader – Mohit Srivastav, as seen above.

Tata Zest is expected to be launched in India by July this year. To be offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options, new Tata Zest will also feature AMT – Automated Manual Transmission option for the diesel powered variant, thus making it the cheapest and the most efficient diesel automatic sedan in the country.

The new Tata Zest sedan will be powered by Tata’s new turbocharged Revotron petrol engine offering peak power of 85 PS at 5000 rpm and peak torque of 140 Nm at 1750-3000 rpm. TDiesel engine option will be in the form of a 1.3 liter Quadrijet engine, offering peak power of 75 PS and peak torque of 190 Nm. Base price of Tata Zest petrol could start in the Rs 5 lakh range, while that of diesel Zest could be in the Rs 6 lakhs range.
