Tour de India organized on the lines of the Tour de France received a lot of support from national and international competitors. The first leg of the race was held in Mumbai on the 2nd of December while the second leg was held in Jammu on the 4th.
The Mumbai leg saw contestants cycle 160 km from NSCI, over the Worli Sea-link before heading back to the start position. 21- year old Navuti Liphongyu from Thailand won the Mumbai leg while Kazakhstan’s Panassenko Nikita and Germany’s Pzzare Matthias clinched the other two podium finishes.
During the Jammu leg of the Tour de India, Ahmad Ali Masoodi clinched the first place while Naveen Thomas John from Bangalore and Surawat Ahmad of Thailand came in second and third respectively. 68 foreign cyclists along with 30 Indian nationals took part in this race which spanned over seven, 26- kilometer laps. The last and final leg of the race was flagged off at 11:00 am at the Buddh international Circuit Noida.
