Toyota and Nissan issue vehicle recalls, 615k and 909k respectively
Once again Japanese automakers Nissan and Toyota re in news for issuing vehicle recall. Nissan Motors have announced a recall of around 909,000 cars globally, while Toyota recall affects 615,000 units of Sienna minivans. In case of Nissan, no accidents were reported, but same is not the case with Toyota as 24 cases of minor accidents have already been reported.
Nissan is recalling these models following complaints received from over 1400 customers, most of who were from Japan. There have not been any reports of any accidents or injuries caused but the auto majors are taking no chances, preferring to recall these vehicles for a quick inspection and modification of defective parts. For Toyota, the recall affects only US. The model year include 2004 to 2005 and 2007 to 2009. (Source: BBC)
