Toyota announces new C segment sedan between Etios and Corolla

A New C Segment sedan from Toyota Motors is in the making. It will be be ready for launch somewhere in 2014 and will be placed in between the Etios and Corolla. Japanese auto manufacturers, Toyota, has stated that this new C Segment Sedan will see similar, but refined powerplants and underpinnings as seen in Toyota Etios though exteriors will be more contemporary and interiors more comfortable.

Besides exterior and interior charm, the new vehicle is also expected to have better finish levels as compared to the Etios. Safety features will be enhanced and internal space will be at a premium. The C Segment Sedan is likely to make its way into Brazilian car market by 2014 after which India, China and Russia are expected to be possible destinations.

Being launched both with petrol and diesel engine options, petrol options will be best suited for customers in China and Brazil while 1.4 liter D-4D turbo diesel engine with variable geometry turbocharger will be well appreciated in Indian markets. Once launched, this new C Segment Sedan will compete with Honda City, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Verna, Maruti SX4, Volkswagen Vento sedans currently available in markets of India and Brazil.
