Caught on test recently in Magarpatta City, Pune, the new Toyota Etios Cross will be based on the Liva. Exteriors will receive some upgrades with silver skid guard and a new front bumper and will be seen with black plastic molding on front, sides and rear, while roof rails will be in anodized silver. Diamond cut 10 spoke alloy wheels and Etios Cross badges along with accessory lights on its front bumper will add more sophistication to the upcoming Cross hatchback.
Cabin features will include a new black dashboard with new seat fabrics and will be well equipped where safety, infotainment and comfort features are concerned. No mechanical changes are expected as the Cross is scheduled to continue to be powered by a 1.4 liter, 68 bhp diesel engine as seen on the Liva and a 1.5 liter, 89 bhp petrol engine as seen on the Liva TRD Sportivo. To be launched in two top end V and VD trim levels, Etios Cross, once successfully launched will compete with Volkswagen Polo Cross and Fiat Punto Cross (yet to be launched). (image via)
