Toyota Etios Motor Racing Trophy 2014 Round 1 in Coimbatore, India
Etios Motor Racing (EMR) Trophy is back for a second year. 2014 season of EMR Trophy beckons young drivers to partake in a race series that’s part of the National Racing Championship (3rd and 5th Round) this year.
Round 1 of 2014 EMR trophy is being held on 19-20 July at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore. This is the 1st EMR Trophy being held in Coimbatore. N. Raja, Director & Sr. Vice President – Marketing and Sales, TKM spoke about EMR’s introduction in India in 2012 to promote motorsports. Efforts are to take up racing at a grass root level and make motorsports more accessible and popular in India.
As a platform, Toyota’s Etios Motor Racing helps young racers develop motoring skills, and train to develop competitive prowess. Driver line-up comprises of existing and new EMR drivers.
2013 EMR trophy held at Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida saw Diljith win, and Akhil Rabindra and Varun Anekar finish in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
Volkswagen Motorsport India too has a dedicated approach here with the 5th Polo R Cup 2014 season having begun earlier this month. For the 2nd year in a row, Mercedes-Benz India Young Star Driver is back with finals scheduled on August 8th, 2014 at BIC.
