Toyota eyeing 70,000 compact cars in first year

Toyota which has already announced its compact car by December 2010 said that it would produce 70,000 units of the car in its first year of operation.

The statement came out at the time of launch of Toyota Prado Diesel in Bangalore.

He said that unlike the current cars which are just 30% indigenous, the compact car will be 70% produced here and will just use the engine imported from Japan. He declined to comment on the price and said that it would be revealed at the time of launch.

RushLane is expecting a minimum price tag of Rs. 3,75,000.

The concept version of the car will be displayed at Auto Expo 2010.
