Toyota Green Journey was a contest held in colleges all over India where students put forth their views on methods to save and protect the environment. About 2700 teams from 200 institutes spanning different streams of studies took part in this contest. Toyota has been pushing its limits when it comes to hybrid eco friendly vehicles and this initiative aimed at sensitizing one to ways of improving waste management, usage of green technologies and innovative technologies to lower rate of fuel consumption.
Winners for this event were chosen based on three categories: best blog article, the best concept paper on green initiatives for waste management, reduced fuel consumption and green technology and the best ad campaign. A panel of judges comprising Mr. Shekar Vishwanathan, Mr. Sandeep Singh and Mr. Rohit Ohri chose winners on basis of aforementioned categories.
National Institute of Industrial Engineering and Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies from Mumbai were adjudged winners in the best Ad and Blog article categories respectively. Management Development Institute, Gurgaon took the first prize in the best concept paper category. Winning teams were presented with a 1.5 lakh cheque from Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Marketing and Commercial, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said “We have had participation from more than 2700 teams and we are very happy with the kind of participation seen by the people.
