Toyota India April 2015 sales grow by 63 percent to 12,325 units

Toyota India, officially known as Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd., subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan registered 63% sales growth in April 2015.

Clocking 63% sales growth in April and 36% overall growth during the January to April 2015 period, the company attributes this increase to the popularity of its Etios series and the new Corolla Altis. During April 2015, Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) sold a total of 12,325 units up 63%, as compared to 7,562 units sold in April 2014 and exported 1,334 units registering 74% growth in exports YoY.

Sales of the company, since the start of this year have been noteworthy clocking double digit growth in each month. In January 2015, Toyota India reported 16% increase in sales while in February sales increased 17%. March and April saw sales increase by 62% and 63% respectively. Domestic sales during the first four months of this year increased by 36% as compared to sales in the same four month period of the previous year.

Toyota India has also made airbags as standard across all their products from 2015. They also plan to make ABS as standard by 2017.

It is both, Etios and Corolla Altis that have been best sellers drawing attention of buyers. TKM has also just launched the all-new Camry facelift in India. Camry Hybrid and Camry Gasoline are priced at INR 31.92 lakhs and 28.80 lakhs respectively – ex- showroom Delhi and is India’s only locally manufactured hybrid. The new Camry is being presented in seven colors of Dark Brown Mica Metallic, Attitude Black, Grey Metallic, White Pearl Crystal Shine, True Blue Mica Metallic (exclusive for Hybrid), Silver Metallic and Greyish Blue Mica Metallic (exclusive for Gasoline).
