Toyota India sales down by 5% in Oct ’14, exports down by more than half
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reports 12,556 units sold in Oct 2014 in the domestic market. When compared to 13,162 units sold in Oct 2013, Toyota India reports 4.6% sales decline.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor exported 1,160 units of Etios series in Oct 2014. TKM registered overall sales of 13,716 units, including exports, in Oct 2014 down from 15,576 units sold in October 2013. This equates to 11.94% overall sales decline. When compared to 2414 units of Etios exported in October 2013, exports decline for Oct ’14 is reported at 52%.
N Raja, Director and Senior Vice – President, Sales and Marketing says the company has maintained the sales volumes as Sept, in the domestic market, and growth is expected over the next two months. In October, Toyota made available its new Etios in a price range of Rs. 5,74,081 and Rs. 7,06,567 (petrol variant ) and Rs.6,84,081 and Rs. 8,16,567 (diesel variant), ex-showroom Delhi. Etios Liva available in a price range of Rs. 4,76,142 and Rs. 6,57,105 (petrol variant ) and Rs. 5,94,642 and Rs. 6,95,460 (diesel variant), ex-showroom Delhi.
This festive season, Toyota domestic sales declined by less than 5% but exports volume has reduced by more than half causing a deep dent in overall sales in October 2014.
