Toyota, Alabama Plant wherefrom the company rolls out their 4 cylinder V6 and V8 engines will be seeing additional investments to the tune of $80 million besides taking in of 125 additional workers. This will increase their workforce by 10% to 1,150. This increased investment will also ensure that production is automatically boosted to keep up with improved demands. Engine production will be increased to 700,000 units per annum while V6 production will also increase from 146,000 to 362,000 engines per year.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama is also expected to construct a 300,000 sq. ft. building while the increased production facilities will commence form March 2014. The company currently assembles 4 cylinder, V6 and V8 engines for 8 out of 12 Toyota vehicles built in North America as is the only plant to produce three types of engines from one facility.
