Now you can lease the hot dog on wheels for an 8 hour day simply with a tweet and hashtag #Tweet2Lease. A winner will be chosen for hands-on access to the Wienermobile, with the vehicle’s drivers (Hotdoggers) stepping in as personal chauffeurs.
“Being the first car available for lease exclusively on Twitter was far too big a distinction to go to any old sedan or sport-utility vehicle,” said Tom Bick, senior director of integrated marketing and advertising at Oscar Mayer. “Only a 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels, the Wienermobile, would do.”
The promotion is supported by a Wienermobile “car commercial” posted to the Oscar Mayer YouTube channel and promoted through paid advertising placements, social-media seeding, and public-relations efforts.
Tweet2Lease sweepstakes run through February 7, 2014 at which time the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile folks will select a winner at random and plan on a lease date. The Tweet2Lease winner will also receive a $500 cash prize. Tweet2Lease official rules are listed here.
