UM Motorcycles is a US based motorcycle brand which has entered into a joint venture with Indian company Lohia Auto. Th JV will soon see the launch of UM Motorcycles in India. The first to be launched is the UM Renegade in three trims – Commando, Sport and Classic.
Priced from INR 1.49 lakh, bookings have opened at UM Motorcycles authorized dealerships across India. Deliveries are slated to commence from June.
Ahead of start of deliveries, UM has released a new teaser video of the Renegade Commando. This video captures the exhaust note of UM Renegade Commando as it speeds across an open road. The sound of the exhaust is unlike any other in the segment and is surely going to attract motorcycle aficionados.

UM Renegade Commando is powered by a 280 cc single cylinder, 4 Stroke, 4 valve, liquid Cooled engine offering peak power of 24.8 bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 21.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm mated to a 6-speed transmission. Ride height stands at 750mm while ground clearance is at 150mm. Weighing a total of 172 kgs, UM Renegade Commando has fuel tank capacity of 18 liters. Top speed is pegged at 127 kmph while mileage could stand at 35 kmpl.
UM Renegade Commando, open for bookings along with Sport S, is offered in three color options each. These include Black Shine, Green Matt and Grey Matt for the Commando, whereas Sport S is presented in Shinny Black, Young Orange and Young Red. The company has set up 25 new dealerships across India while a third bike in the Renegade range – Renegade Classic is planned for launch in September.
