Uma Thurman unveils BMW i8 Roadster at BMW’s ‘Born Electric’ event

Uma Thurman helped unveil the new BMW i8 Concept Roadster at Born Electric World Tour party held at 1095 Avenue of the Americas on Monday November 12, 2012 in New York. The actress joined on stage Ludwig Willisch, CEO of BMW North America as he unveiled this new electric carbon fiber sports car while Uma Thurman even got a chance to test out the new vehicle which is expected to hit company showrooms in 2014.

BMW i8 Concept Roadster is a sports car with plugin hybrid concept with modified electric drive system which is based on the earlier BMW i3 Concept. The upcoming vehicle which will only go on sale in early 2014 will possess a high performance three cylinder combustion engine producing 164 kW, 220 HP power and 300 Nm torque.

It will have a high performance level while fuel consumption will be the most frugal. Its lithium ion battery when fully charged will be able to travel upto 20 miles while the vehicle offers enhanced seating space for upto four adults. The i8 Concept was recently awarded the 2012 Concept Car of the Year award at the North American Concept Vehicle show and is eagerly awaited by sports car aficionados the world over.
