It is already confirmed that Valentino Rossi will be returning to Yamaha, but it will be formally announced only at upcoming Indianapolis Grand Prix slated…
Rossi’s stint with Ducati was short. This alliance did not see the racer prove his mettle as he only won two podium finishes in a total of 27 races. Yamaha have offered Rossi a two year MotoGP contract followed by a WSB ride in 2015. Yamaha are expecting to return to World Superbikes in 2014 where Rossi will play a major role as technical developer and rider of the new bike. Rossi has already tested the Yamaha Factory Superbike following which he had serious injuries to his right leg.
Meanwhile, Jorge Lorenzo is open to Rossi joining the Yamaha team as a works rider in 2013 following Sen Spies announcement that he was leaving the team at the end of this season. Though the duo have not shared a very good relationship in their three years as Yamaha team mates their partnership also resulted in three consecutive riders’ titles.
