VECV, Scania, Fiat and Mercedes Benz India growth
Sales estimates within the next 5 years are 2,000 trucks, 1,000 buses and 1,500 engines a year in the Indian market. At the end of the month, Scania Commercial Vehicles India is set to make some key announcements regarding their commercial vehicles growth parameters here.
VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), a 50-50 jv between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Limited won twice at the 4th edition Apollo CV India awards in Mumbai. The awards won are CV maker of the year, and Tipper of the year (Premium category) for the Volvo FM 480 10×4 dump truck.
On the growth front, Fiat has already signed agreements with dealers for top 35 cities in India today inaugurated their new Patiala showroom with Sandeep Autos. Armed with state of the art equipment to service Fiat cars, the new dealership takes forward FIAT Group Automobiles India Pvt. Ltd (FGAIPL) new strategy for rapid expansion of dealer network here. Earlier, Enrico Atanasio, MD of FIAT Group Automobiles India Pvt. Ltd had spoken about Fiat opening 70 new dealerships by 2013 March end, and another 30 showrooms across Tier II and Tier III cities before year end.

Mercedes-Benz India inaugurated T&T Motors in South Delhi, bringing to us the largest luxury car showroom. For the dealer, it marked the 15h anniversary of their MB association. The 60,000 sq ft store saw an investment of Rs 70 crores, and can display 26 car. With 90 sales personnel employed, there’s a dedicated floor for AMG vehicles and Mercedes-Benz’s Pre-Owned car business, Proven Exclusivity.
