Vettel extends lead: Needs to finish 5th in India to bag title
Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel is victorious, again and he seems unstoppable. Earlier today, he won his 5th consecutive race and in doing so, he also won his 4th Formula 1 Japanese GP in five years. Second place was taken by Vettel’s team-mate Mark Webber, who started the day on pole position, but lost lead in the LAP 42 while he was in the pits.
Heading into the 2013 Indian Grand Prix on 25-27 Oct, at Buddh International Circuit, Vettel just needs 10 more points to secure his 4th consecutive F1 title. He needs to finish 5th of better in order to defend his title, and considering that he is the only driver to have one in India till date, it seems like India will be the venue where Red Bull’s Vettel becomes the youngest driver in F1′s history to win 4 consecutive titles.
After the race, Vettel said, “A very rewarding win today; it’s a great feeling. I love this track and it’s just fantastic to win here. I’m happy to go home for a bit now and to relax before we go out to India. That’s an impressive country and I’m looking forward to racing there in a couple of weeks.”
