With Volkswagen showcasing multiple vehicles at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, here’s a brief n what you’ll see. There’s the Volkswagen Golf Variant Concept R-Line, a first timer. Volkswagen e-Golf, GTD sports car that uses 4.2 l/100 km, GTI 220 PS and 230 PS, and the new hybrid version of Mk7 Golf are getting ready for display at the Volkswagen stands while engine lineup will range from the 1.2 TSI offering 85 hp to a 2.0 TDI offering 150 hp.
Golf plug in hybrid will come with an Audi A3 e-tron concept which will include a 1.4 TFSI engine offering 150 hp together with a 75 kW electric motor offering 204 hp and 350 Nm torque. This highly efficient engine which has proved its mettle on the Audi is capable of acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 222 kmph. Fuel consumption along with auto emissions are also down to a bare minimum. Fuel consumption stands at 1.5 liters/100km while auto emissions are pegged to stand at 35 gms/km. A top speed of 130 kmph in pure electric mode is scheduled.
There’s the TXL1 two-seater production vehicle, Golf Estate FWD and AWD. The Golf TDI BlueMotion (diesel) is goes 100 km in 3.2 l making it the most fuel-efficient variant.
