Volkswagen Group Chief Representative India and President and Managing Director, Volkswagen India Private Limited, Dr. John Chacko had this to say. “With the growth of 21.6 per cent, we are on course towards further strengthening the position of the Volkswagen Group in India.”
Sales growth for Volkswagen Groups luxury automaker Audi India has been phenomenal at 40.8%. Deliveries for 2012 stand at 2,269 cars in comparison to 1,611 cars for Q1 of 2011. Skoda delivered 11,505 cars through Q1 of 2012 which equates to 40% sales growth when compared to 8,217 cars delivered in the Indian auto market the January to March of 2011. Volkswagen delivered 20,352 cars through Q1 of 2012 and achieved 11.6% sales growth when compared to 18,244 cars VW sold for the same period the previous year.
