Despite uncertainties in the auto sector, rising interest rates and booming petrol prices, auto companies seem to have done well where October sales are concerned. Festive season usually sees an increase in auto sales and that is just what Volkswagen has achieved this past month.

Figures for October are promising with 7266 vehicles sold during the month and a growth of 67% recorded. In October 2010, the company had sold 4343 vehicles. Top sellers were Polo and Vento which brought in good numbers for the brand with a total sale of 6814 units during the month of October.

Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of the Board and Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars at Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said that the company was very proud of their popularity. Both their cars Polo in the small category, and sedan Vento brought in huge numbers during the festive season and it was company’s endeavor to ensure continued performance and excellent service to their loyal clients.
