Debuted at the 2014 New York Auto Show, 2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift receives minor external and internal updates. Priced from Rs 13.87 lakhs, ex-showroom Mumbai, below is detailed list of updates you will find inside the new Jetta.
Interiors – Volkswagen has added several updates to interiors of the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift. It sports a flat bottom three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel as is also seen on both Polo and Vento while its infotainment system also receives an upgrade and includes 6 CD charger, AUX-in and 8 speakers. Cabin design is refreshed and color options include an all black of dual toned interiors.
Exteriors – Exteriors of the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift have also been modified to include a new front bumper. Its three slat grille is similar to that seen on the new Passat, which made its presence felt at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Changes to the rear include new tail lamps. Sitting on new alloy wheels the 2015 Jetta facelift sports new day time running LED and bi-xenon headlamps. Apart from this, the overall design has been re-engineered to reduce drag by 10%.
Engine – 2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift continues with same petrol and diesel engine options as seen on its earlier model. These include a 1.4 TSI offering 122 PS peak power and 200 Nm peak torque mated to a 6 speed manual transmission and 2.0 TDI engine offering 140 PS peak power and 320 Nm peak torque mated to either a six speed manual transmission or six speed DSG. Fuel efficiency of these engines will be boosted by 8%.
Competitors – 2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift will find many competitors on its official launch in India. These will be in the form of Toyota Corolla Altis, the Skoda Octavia, Renault Fluence, Chevrolet Cruze and Hyundai Elantra.
Pricing – 2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift will be locally assembled at the company’s Chakan plant near Pune. It will be offered in three trim levels of Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The 1.4l TSI variant is priced in the range of Rs 13.87 – Rs 15.36 lakhs, the 2.0l TDI manual variant is priced in the range of Rs 15.01 – Rs 18.76 lakhs, and the 2.0l DSG variant is priced at Rs 19.77 lakhs.
