GET FREE AUTO ALERTS Volkswagen announced today that it would recall 193,260 units of Novo Gol and Voyage that were produced before July 2009, due to a lubrication problem in rear wheels that causes them to jam.
The news came just after Toyota and Honda recalled their vehicles from various countries due to accelerator-brake problems and airbag faults respectively.
The recall was "preventative", Volkswagen Brazil's website said.
Volkswagen has a history of recall in Brazil. In April 2008, it recalled over 450,000 of Fox compact models to fix a fault in rear set. In December 2009, it recalled 120,000 units of Fox, Novo Gol and Voyage due to faulty brakes.
