Volkswagen Passenger Car sales have touched a new high. The company has announced that during the period January to September 2012, deliveries to the tune of 4.21 million vehicles were effected while in the same period in the previous year only 3.81 million vehicles were delivered to customers. Taking only the month of September into account, Volkswagen Passenger Cars completed deliveries of 492,500 vehicles, an increase of 4.3% as compared to 472,100 vehicles delivered in September 2011.

The company is confident of carrying this trend forward to end of this year despite difficult market situation prevailing in the auto industry. The New Golf is also making its way into markets and the company has already received over 15000 advance orders for the same. Markets across the globe followed a similar pace with 16.4% increase in deliveries in the Asia Pacific region. 1.68 million vehicles were delivered in the period January to September out of which 1.52 million were delivered to China and Hong Kong. In US markets sales increased by 26.1% while in South America deliveries increased by 8.1%.

Attention is now on the response which the new Golf will receive. Based on the new MQB platform, Golf will be lighter, 56mm longer, 13mm wider and 28mm lower than its predecessor offering more space in its interiors which works to its advantage. Back in September 2012, the new 2013 Volkswagen Golf premiered and 7th gen MK7 campaign in 33 countries was kickstarted. This month, Volkswagen Taigun mini SUV was revealed at the 2012 Sao Paulo Motor Show. This week, Volkswagen Santana sedan based on Passat was launched in China
