Volkswagen Polo, if reports are to be believed, is all set to get a more powerful engine under its hood. Autocar India, in their latest issue have revealed that VW will be soon launching Polo with 1.6L 4 cylinder engine giving output of 103.5@5250 rpm bhp. The 1.6L Polo version will be able to cross 100 kmph 3 seconds faster than its 1.2L version. According to the magazine, VW has already started accepting bookings for 1.6L Polo against Rs 50,000 of down payment.
Interiors and exteriors of 1.6L version will remain the same as of 1.2L. VW will start rolling out the new Polo in October with a price tag of Rs 7.16 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai). VW's new Polo comes with an extensive 6 year anti corrosion warranty. There will not be any changes with 1.6L Polo's exteriors or interiors as VW want to keep them as available in 1.2L Polo.
