Volvo S60 T6 premium sedan was launched in India today. Sold as a CBU, it will be the third engine option on offer with the S60; the other two being D4 (1969 cc, 181 hp, 400 Nm) and D5 (2400 cc, 215 hp, 440 Nm). Price of petrol S60 T6 starts from Rs 42 lakhs, ex-showroom, Chennai.
This is the first petrol variant in the S60 sedan lineup while the diesel variants were launched in India in 2013. Volvo S60 T6 is powered by a 2.0 liter four cylinder petrol engine offering 304 bhp peak power at 5,700 rpm and 400 Nm torque at 2,100 to 4,500 rpm. This engine is mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission. This petrol engine is capable of acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds and can hit a top speed of 230 kmph while fuel consumption is promised at 15.6 kmpl.
The new Volvo S60 T6 will compete with premium sedans in its class such as the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C Class. Features on board Volvo S60 T6 will include electronic climate control, a sunroof, leather and power adjustable seats, active bending headlights and LED daytime running lights.
Other features on board the new Volvo S60 T6 will be in the form of a digital TFT instrument cluster, a 7” infotainment system, park assist and a host of other safety features of which Volvo cars are well noted.
