Volvo UD SLF buses begin customer trial runs in Bengaluru

Volvo UD SLF is a Semi Low-Floor city bus which was unveiled by Volvo Group in 2014. Volvo UD SLF buses are a part of the company strategy to enter the value segment market in India. BMTC will operate these new UD SLF buses on key route No.342F from Kempegowda Bus Station to Sarjapur over the next two months as customer trial run.

The first Volvo UD SLF bus in India, all set to begin journey. This is the first market Volvo UD SLF Buses are being introduced in India.

Commencement of customer trials is an important milestone in the introduction of UD Buses in India. The UD SLF is a semi low floor bus claiming good fuel efficiency, reliability and optimized uptime. Volvo UD SLF Buses has been specially designed to cater to demands for city transport both where passenger’s demands and drivers comfort is concerned.

It is fitted with exclusive safety features with a few being the first in this segment. These safety features include Anti Lock Braking System with disc brakes situated on front wheels while drum brakes are on rear wheels. In-built hydrodynamic retarder, door braking system, large emergency exits and emergency hooter form its other safety features. UD SLF also has features that will reduce both noise and vibrations within the bus to minimum levels.

Volvo UD SLF Buses are air conditioned and spacious measuring 12 meters in length. These buses are powered by a 230 hp 8 liter, 6 cylinder Euro IV diesel engine with both turbocharger and intercooler. UD SLF buses have only one 640mm height of the step each at the front and middle doors for easy entry and exit and even allow easy access by those differently abled. The buses will be on trial with BMTC for a period of two months.
