Renewing its continued support for the Indo-German Urban Mela taking place in New Delhi, Volkswagen provided shuttle services for delegates taking part in this event in the cities of Bangalore and Chennai. Over 60 cars and buses from VW, Audi, Skoda and Porsche brands will be seen at this event and will be used to provide a superb experience to delegates traveling to this mega event. At the event, Microcity and NILS two important concepts from VW will be showcased at the Volkswagen Group India Exhibition Pavilion. These concepts showcase sustainability, responsibility and innovation.

The innovation theme will include features like future mobility, zero emission, alternative fuels and alternative modes of transport. Sustainability will include recycling concepts, different forms of energy and renewable forms of energy as also eco compatible technologies and ‘Think Blue. Factory’.

Individual and sustainable mobility options will be showcased under the Responsibility theme. Mircocity is concept including intelligent traffic systems which make usage of transportation systems much easier for the common man. Volkswagen Group India Partners with Indo-German Urban Mela as a “City Partner” in New Delhi

Volkswagen Group India continues its association with Indo-German Urban Mela (IGUM) as a ‘City Partner’ in New Delhi. Volkswagen Group India initiated this partnership by providing shuttle services for delegates participating in the Urban Mela in Bangalore and Chennai. IGUM, Delhi will see a fleet of over 60 cars and buses from the Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Porsche brands. These cars will give an experience of the Volkswagen brand to the delegates travelling to the Mela. In the Volkswagen Group India Exhibition Pavilion two major concepts, MicroCity and NILS, based on the theme of Innovation, Sustainability and Responsibility are showcased.

Under Innovation, displayed content will be on future mobility, emission-free mobility, hybrid and electric mobility and alternative fuels. Sustainability theme will cover topics like ‘Think Blue. Factory’, eco-compatible technologies, recycling concepts, forms of energy and renewable sources of energy. The theme Responsibility will include various steps taken by Volkswagen Group to ensure individual and sustainable mobility.

MicroCity, a concept of intelligent traffic systems, is the mobility centre which makes using passenger vehicles in cities easier and more appealing for customers. With the MicroCity, Volkswagen is able to position itself with customers and cities as a partner for an intelligent form of urban mobility. The MicroCity offers car and trip sharing included with intelligent parking management, charging of electric cars, short term rent of cars and electric two wheelers along with other future mobility solutions.

The design model of NILS is a single-seat electric concept vehicle that offers a glimpse of a new form of minimalist mobility. The NILS project is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development, and is designed to be both technically realistic and economically feasible. The Pavilion also showcases vehicle production within a closed energetic circle by reusing all resources and the CSR projects undertaken by the Volkswagen Group across the globe.
