VW Polo Facelift espied uncamouflaged in China
An undisguised prototype of the 2014 Volkswagen Polo facelift was recently caught on test in China. While modifications are aplenty, it would take a keen eye to note the design differences on Polo facelift as compared to the current Polo in circulation.
Polo facelift is slated to be introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 where it will sport a new 3 cylinder, 1.0 liter TSI engine, which currently functions in the VW Up! Expect new engines too, in the choice of 1.4 liter and 1.6 liter mated to 5 and 6 speed manual gearbox.
Polo facelift will come in with a lower front grille with a horizontal slat design as against the honeycomb design as seen on a regular Polo. Fog lights are reduced in size and enclosed in an ‘L’ shaped housing, while headlights have also been modified with clear lens.
The rear end design of the facelift Polo remains much the same as seen on current model, while registration plate enclosure is shorter as against the current European Polo. Polo Facelift is slated for sale in Europe by mid 2014 while the company has already commenced work on next generation Polo which should make its presence felt in 2016. (source)
