Mahindra XUV500 sales cross 1 lakh since launch

Mahindra and Mahindra’s XUV500 has been a resounding success ever since it was launched almost three years ago in September 2011. This Sports Utility Vehicle, the recipient of a host of awards, has now reached a major milestone with sales reaching the 1 lakh unit mark in India thus adding one more feather in the Mahindra cap.

Priced in a range of INR 10.80 to 12.88 lakhs, XUV500 was launched in September 2011 in three variants with a fourth model added in November last year.

Besides achieving success in India, the XUV 500 has also been well accepted in International markets such as South Africa, Europe, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Australia and Sri Lanka. The XUV 500 has achieved as many as 25 awards in the past three years. Top Gear Magazine Awards 2011 included SUV of the Year Award, Readers Choice Award and Best Value for Money Car Award. The XUV 500 has a fan following of 1.8 million on Facebook and 10 million views on YouTube, which only denotes its acceptance by the younger and more adventurous buyers in the country.

Competing with the likes of Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano, Mahindra XUV500 has managed to separate itself from the crowd, thanks to the stylish design and best in class road presence. To enhance sales even further, Mahindra & Mahindra has offered special discounts upto INR 25,000 on the Mahindra four wheeler range. Called the Banker’s Bonanza, this offer is specially meant for bank employees in India and will be valid till 31st August 2014. The company had also recently offered discount scheme of ‘Live It Up In The Rains In A Mahindra’ which expired on June 30, 2014.
