Yamaha Fascino 113 cc scooter launched to rival Honda Activa, Price Rs 52,500

Today in Mumbai, Yamaha Motor India announced the launch of yet another two wheeler for the commuter segment. This one is called Yamaha Fascino, an automatic scooter which is based on their Nozza Grande 125 cc automatic scooter. The launch of Fascino comes about 20 days after Yamaha India launched their 125 cc commuter motorcycle – Saluto.

New Yamaha Fascino

Speaking about the new launch – Yamaha Fascino is powered by a 113 cc petrol single cylinder engine. This engine features Yamaha’s new Blue Core technology, to deliver more power and fuel efficiency. Yamaha claims that the new Fascino scooter delivers 66 kmpl mileage, which is the highest claimed by any scooter on sale in India. This engine delivers 7.1 PS power at 7,500 rpm and 8.1 Nm torque at 5,000 rpm.

Styled to rival the likes of retro scooters from Vespa (selling about 2,000 units a month), the Yamaha Fascino offers comfortable seating for two, thanks to the plush long seat. Priced at Rs 52,500 ex-showroom, New Delhi, it weighs 103 kgs (lightest for any Yamaha scooter on sale in India). Dimensions of Yamaha Fascino stands at 1815 mm long, 675 mm wide, 1120 mm tall, 5.2 litres fuel tank capacity, 128 mm ground clearance and a wheelbase of 1270 mm.

Built to be practical, and perform on rugged Indian road conditions, Yamaha aims to target young buyers who are stylish. With enough chrome embellishments on its body, Yamaha Fascino does look attractive.

Speaking about their new scooter, Mr Masaki Asano, MD, Yamaha India said that this is a very important launch for them. In addition to Ray, Ray Z and Alpha, the Fascino will now help Yamaha to further increase their growth in India.
