Yamaha M-Slaz (MT-15) priced higher than R15 (Brochure and Photos)

On display at the 2015 Thailand Motor Expo, 2015 Yamaha M-Slaz is yet another 150 cc motorcycle from Yamaha. Powered by the same engine which is seen on board the Yamaha R15, the new M-Slaz was officially launched in Thailand today. Though Yamaha M-Slaz is the naked sibling of R15, it is surprisingly priced higher at THB 89,500 (or INR 1.66 lakh).

Featuring a sleek and sporty design, inspired by the MT-07 and MT-09, the new Yamaha naked bike is built on the Delta box chassis, same as R15. Power comes from a single cylinder 149 cc liquid cooled engine that generates peak power of 17 PS at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 15 Nm at 7,500 rpm. Transmission is taken care by the same 6 speed gearbox, as seen on board the R15.

Styling highlights of this new Yamaha street bike includes LED headlamps and taillight, MT ignition switch instead of the start/stop button (a feature which until now was only seen on the high-end MT-07 and MT-09), colorful handlebar, stylish rear view mirrors, raised pillion seat, large exhaust, cowls on the side of the fuel tank and around the engine.

Features on board Yamaha M-Slaz includes upside down front suspension, monoshock rear suspension, LED backlit digital display, front and rear disc brakes (no ABS), 17 inch alloys, front tyre – 110/70-17 M/C 54s, rear tyre – 130/70-17 M/C 62s.

As a token of appreciation for buyers who book the bike before 31st January 2016, Yamaha will give away a free backback called MLB-SLAM worth THB 5,000 (INR 9,295).
