Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd has seen remarkable success during the month of March 2013. Recording 20.5% growth during the month. Last month also marked 6 months since the Yamaha Ray scooter was launched in India.
In domestic markets, the company sold 35,782 units during the month of March 2013 as compared to 29,819 units sold in the same month of the previous year resulting in growth of 20%. Exports totaled 14,691 units in March 2013 as against 12,067 units in the same month of previous year thus accomplishing a 22% increase. Overall sales during March 2013 totaled 50,473 units as compared to March 2012 figures of 41,886 units registering a 20.5% overall sales growth.
From March 8-16, 2013, Yamaha Motors India celebrated Woman’s Week with a special “I am Ray” campaign. This seven day campaign was held across major cities in the country promoting the company as a brand that respects women and womanhood. Participants at this campaign were offered Yamaha Tee Shirts and Gift Hampers and were also offered a 50% discount on helmets if Rays were booked by females. The Yamaha Ray is specially targeted to niche customers of young and urban working women. It is in a stylish new design, is compact and easy to use.
