Yamaha to launch new scooter above Ray in India this year
Yamaha Motors India launched the Ray scooter in India last year. Yamaha Ray was aimed at the fairer sex. Now, a more powerful scooter is in the making. This scooter will be launched later this year and will target male buyers.
After a successful launch of the RAY scooter in India, Yamaha is set to launch a new scooter for Indian markets. The scooter market in India is picking up. Recently, news about Bajaj working on a new scooter were aired over the internet. Similar story on a new Vespa scooter was also heard.
All these point towards the rise in demand for scooters in India. RAY from Yamaha was created for the fairer sex while the new scooter will boast of a macho appearance. AutoCar says that this model will rank high on performance and handling with a 125 cc four stroke single cylinder air cooled engine powering the bike. Automatic transmission and an exponential increase in power are features of this bike.
Though not many details are known about the new scooter, it will be launched by mid 2013. Recently Yamaha had also launched a driving program for women to help them accustomed to riding scooters and enjoying their wheels in a better way.
